All across Champlain, from October 2017 to June 2018, the Champlain LHIN IMPACTT Centre and its collaboration partners will host free, voluntary falls risk screening tests using our trained technicians and technology tools.

In collaboration with many partners across the home and community health sectors, the LHIN IMPACTT Centre is engaged in an innovative research project that leverages technology to perform early falls risk screening tests for seniors. This technology enables testing through trained technicians using proven medical devices and could significantly offer more cost effective and sustainable business models to promote falls risk awareness and prevention strategies by going to seniors in places where they may meet others, attend programs or live.

We will offer the falls screening test in partnership with:

(i) Community Support Service Agencies at Day Programs, Diners Clubs, Social Events, Health & Wellness Clinics, Footcare Clinics

(ii) Community Health Centres

(iii) Public Senior Events/Fairs/Conferences

(iv) Home and Community Nursing Clinics

(v) Seniors Exercise Classes

(vi) Homecare Patients and many more.

Our schedule of screening locations will be available on the website in Nov 2017. Our partners will continue to help promote this event and encourage attendance in this program throughout the project life.

As our research partner, the University of Windsor, World Health Innovation Network will enable us to understand the business costs and operating models that are most effective and provide the maximum value and help to develop new and sustainable programs.
