Dental hygiene clinic for seniors. Seniors must book the appointment in November, but the actual service date can be outside of this month. Poor oral care leads to poor nutrition which can lead to frailty, a risk factor for falls.  The Dental Hygiene Students at Georgian College will be offering Dental Hygiene Services to Seniors at a reduced cost during the month of NOVEMBER to recognize FALL PREVENTION MONTH. For the reduced fee of $20, which helps to recover some costs, we will evaluate your oral health needs and recommend a plan unique to you that may include the following services*:

  • Oral health assessments including teeth, gums, and dentures
  • Oral health education
  • Denture cleaning
  • Thorough teeth cleaning
  • Polishing teeth and professional fluoride treatment as needed
  • X-rays as needed
  • Diagnosis for cavities**

All services are provided by Dental Hygiene Students under the supervision of a Registered Dental Hygienist at the Barrie Sadlon Centre Location As students require time for instruction and evaluation, appointments are three hours long and it may take a series of appointments to complete your care. You must register during the month of November to receive the discount. (Clients must be 65 or older to receive the discount.)

*Services are individualized to meet the client’s needs.

**Please note that we cannot address severe dental needs at this clinic such as dental pain, broken or missing fillings, cavities, or denture adjustment, however a diagnosis by a Dentist will be provided. Please call Brenda Carter at (705) 728-1968 ext 1387 to register
