The aim of this one-day conference is to present current and emerging research and promote the uptake of innovative practices specific to balance, mobility, and physical activity/fitness assessment and training within clinical populations, with specific focus on those with neurological conditions and older adults.

This conference will be relevant to healthcare professionals (including physiotherapists, kinesiologists, physicians, practice leaders and administrators within hospital and community settings), researchers, and students who work with individuals with neurological conditions (e.g. stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis) and the elderly with mobility challenges.

The objectives of this conference are to:

  1. provide an update on current and emerging research and innovative practices in the area of balance, mobility and fitness/physical activity
  2. provide participants with concrete and practical examples of how research can be applied to the assessment and management of balance, mobility, fitness/physical activity in clinical populations
  3. provide the opportunity to network with colleagues and promote clinical: research interactions
